SOWJRA funded by UNFPA implements 2 days of anti-child and early marriage awareness workshop at Jowhar district in Middle Shebelle region
The mayor of middle Shabelle region in Hir-Shebelle State, Mr Ahmed Meyre Makaran leading higher members of Hir-Shabelle administration like MP and state minster of religious affairs ministry .deputy commissioner of middle Shebelle region Mr Handow, executive media director of ministry of information of Hir-Shebelle state Mr Kulmiye and also women commissioner Miss Madina Olow, has closed 2days anti-child and early marriage workshop for 40 individuals from six segments of Middle Shebelle region communities .on July- 2019

Midlle region Mr Ahmed Meyre Makaran who prolonged to advise the participants to be alert on the consequences child and early marriage saying “ every one should disseminate this message, for the goodness of his/her society” “you should keep in mind that there were a lot who didn’t get this opportunity” Said the mayor of Middle Shebelle region Mr Ahmed Meyre Makaran adding “ it will be continues crisis if we don’t stand for giving awareness to our community”
Madina Olow women’s commissioner In Middle Shebelle region started her speech that she stood against child and early marriage by herself alone..After the fall of central government, poverty,lack of awareness and also lack of free education are among main causes of child and early marriage
Executive media director of ministry of information of Hir/Shebelle regional administration Mr Mohamed Kulmiye said “we are happy with this workshop an d I promise that all media stations in Jowhar will transmit massage to the community to raise their understanding towards child and early marriage.
Beneficiaries of the workshop who were mostly women agreed that have learnt a lot from the effects of child and early marriage on health and development of young girls those changed much about their attitude towards child and early marriage has changed as they have experienced many painful true stories during the workshop.
