Somali Women Journalism’s Rights Association -SOWJRA is women journalists-owned a non-government and non-profit organization and female journalists or and other female working in areas closely related to journalism are eligible for membership in the Somali Women Journalism’s Rights Association.

It is open and we are interested to welcome any Somali female journalist or any female somewhat related to field of journalism to join us and be part of this growing joint action promoting gender balance in the mass media and entertainment industries through networking, professional development, and advocacy for women in Somalia.

Because joining SOWJRA requires eligibility criteria to be met, and that to be approved by the Board of Directors who meet once a month to approve or reject your application. figure it will take a few days for your application to be screened. If you apply on a weekend or after business hours, it will likely take longer. And after screening, if your application qualifies, you will be notified about the next steps. You will receive updates on progress of your application starting from the first screening step until approval and welcoming you officially to the Somali Women Journalism’s Rights Association.
