Mogadishu, 5-10, August, 2023… The Somali Women Journalists Rights Association (SOWJRA) has concluded a four days mentoring workshop for 50 emerging female poets in Mogadishu today. The workshop was funded by AFAC ARAB FUND FOR ARTS AND CULTURE.
The event was attended by the chairwoman of Somali National Women Association madame Batulo Ahmed Gabballe, the director of the Somali Academy of Science, Culture and Arts, Mr. Abdikadir Nor Hussein Maah, and other several guests of honor.
The Somali traditional dances, poems, songs were displayed and performed at the stage. The chairwoman of Somali National Women Association Batulo Ahmed Gabballe hailed the workshop and called for the preservation of the Somali cultural heritage, saying that women are integral part of the Somali culture and arts.
Lastly , the Executive Director of SOWJRA Leila Aded thanked the participants of the workshop as well as the guest on how they emphasized the need for promoting the rich Somali culture and Arts.
