Somali Woman Journalist Rights Association (SOWJRA) with support from UNFPA Somalia has conducted two days training and mobilization workshop on the harmful impact of early and child marriage in Banadir region. The meeting, which was highly organized participated by Somali Civil Society Organizations and organizations working to end child marriage and its impact in the community.
The two days training sessions highlighted some of the major impacts of the early and child marriage in the community, the participants of different backgrounds presented very fruitful ideas and suggestions to end this harmful cultural practice in Somalia. The meeting was concluded with remarks from SOWJRA chairperson Leila Ad’ed Osman appreciated the participants for their contribution and thanked SOWJRA and UNFPA Somalia for their continues support and commitment to end child and early marriage in Somalia.
