As we know Somalia, has been a fragile state since the fall of the military government, almost thirty years ago. Since then, transparency and accountability fell into a dark well.

As Somali culture is male dominant society, and women are neglected in every part of the society, SOWJRA, as it is women journalist, preferred to protect women in their voices against any Gender based violence. Because SOWJRA, organization team are behind the microphone and their voice can reach every segment of the society.

Community awareness and raising campaigns is crucial when building the capacity of a community that has been ravaged by a civil war. So, Somali women journalist’s rights saw an opportunity to raise awareness campaigns, through media awareness campaigns as media.
